    Rusty Tin Cup by James @ 12:00 am

    all i’ve got is this tin cup;
    handle tucked in my suspender.
    later today I will empty out the change
    and have a cup of fired leaf tea.
    i’m not really blind, i just don’t want to see
    and the folks walking by don’t care one way or the other.
    it is warm inside my world,
    but freezing cold out here.
    by the fire, i kick off my shoes
    and pull up the newspaper.
    without you, i see what i am out here on the road side,
    waiting for the next breath of fresh life to pierce me in my side.
    one day when i get back up,
    and that day is coming,
    i will work for their food,
    if there is work to do.

    until then, remember that donations are accepted

    and may god bless you all…
