February Updates by James @ 7:34 pm

    Well, time flies don’t it…

    Don’t it, though.

    Yeah, it sure don’t.

I have written a couple of new songs in the last few days and have recordings up of them already. These are two to three hour recordings, nothing special, but OK.

    New Song: Damn TV

    New Song: Triangle vs. Cowbell

I plugged the Applause acoustic (with the Seymour Duncan Woody pickup) into my new pedal board (see below) and into the Kustom amp. I ran direct XLR out of the amp into the Art TubeMP and out to the PC line in.

Anyway, the pedal board updates are below. I got the cables, routed it all up and got everything powered.

Washing Machine by James @ 12:00 am

i woke up this morning to
    screaming cats, thinking about
    the washing machine.
    apparently, it dripped some water
    at some point.
    i don’t know, i didn’t see it.
i washed some towels to see
    while drinking the morning’s
    coffee, and everything is fine.
now it’s afternoon and i still
look like bed in a morning.
the cats are silent now, but
    i’m still annoyed.
    now i listen, this american
    life, a repeat about valentines
    day.
    someone dryly speaking about
    love lost and long gone.
    i am squinting at poems
    by bukowski. i hear the
    same dry voice, his words,
    conflicting with the radio.
i am leaking out the meaning of
    each voice’s commentary, but
the floor is dry under the
    washing machine.

Honey Brown by James @ 12:00 am

so this is the end of the work day
i’m home and i’m feeling at ease
the honey brown’s half gone already
it will be time for another one soon

outside, it’s chilly, but in here it’s freezing
the electric bill is going to kill me
to the next honey brown, i say ‘bring it on’
i need some help resting easy

so this is the end of the work week
i told you i need the structure
what i meant was i can’t be trusted
to stick to it when left on my own

but then how would i buy more honey brown
and keep the heat up to a hundred?
